I can work with you to explore whatever difficulties you are experiencing. It is important that you feel safe and comfortable with a therapist, and this can take time. This is why I offer a free telephone consultation and a reduced rate assessment appointment to make sure I can meet your needs and you feel comfortable.

If for any reason I feel I am unable to offer the help that is needed, I may suggest other Therapists or avenues of support.

How I work….

In our initial sessions I will ask you some questions about your experiences, relationships, and what brought you to therapy, so I can get a deeper understanding of your presenting problems and your needs, so we can work safely together. During these sessions I will gain an understanding of your goals, so we can work in collaboration to explore your problems and difficulties without judgement or telling you what to do.

My aim is to provide a safe space for you to explore your difficulties and find a way through.

During our time together we will review progress towards an ending based on an agreed number of sessions or, if the therapy in open ended, periodical reviews of progress will be part of the process.

What Theories do I work with?

There are a variety of approaches to the way practitioners work with their clients. I have been trained in a therapeutic approach called psychodynamic and systemic.

Psychodynamic therapy helps you understand how your current feelings and behaviour are shaped by your past experiences and your unconscious mind and impulses.

Systemic therapy - focuses on the interactions and relationships between a couple, family, and/or groups to help them address any problems and to move on. It gives you the chance to explore feelings and say what you think in a safe, non-judgmental environment.

I am also trained in Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

People access therapy for a variety of reasons, a specific event or trauma, or maybe something does not feel right and you would like to explore it. If this is you then please get in touch.

It is important to me as a practitioner to take a holistic approach with all the people I am working with. If you would like to get back to calmer waters please do not hesitate to contact me.

If you would like to go ahead, the process is as follows:

  • A 15-20 minute free of charge initial telephone conversation

  • If you decide to take the next step we will book an assessment appointment, charged at a reduced rate.

  • If you would like to proceed we then book your sessions.

  • Sessions can be weekly, fortnightly, and monthly to suit your needs and budget.

  • Sessions can be face to face and/or online via teams.

Additional Information

  • Therapy sessions can be face to face, which is based at my home. My therapy room has separate access to the main house, and there is free parking within a gated driveway.

  • Online therapy sessions are via Microsoft Teams, and I will send you an invite link for each session so you can access them.

  • Sessions are paid for, 48hrs in advance via bank transfer.

  • Sessions are £50 per hour

  • Assessment appointment is a reduced rate of £25

  • Concession rates are available on request.
